Algiers and Oran Discovery tour programme :
Day 1 : Oran
Arrival at Oran airport, hotel transfer and check in, In the afternoon, discovery of Oran, It is a city steeped in Spanish culture and festive which was the cradle of the Raï music that is nicknamed “radiant”.
Visit of the town hall guarded by its two lions, the theater, the seafront, and its shopping streets. Welcome dinner with traditional Oranese dishes in a place full of history. Installation at the Sofi hotel in Oran and overnight stay.
Day 2: Oran – Tlemcen
Visit to the Chapel and Fort of Santa Cruz which will offer you one of the most beautiful views panoramic view of the city, followed by a visit to the Spanish neighbourhood and lunch at the fishery.
Afternoon visit to the sea coast of Mers El Kebir to Andalusia, then road on Tlemcen by the cities of Rio Salado, Aïn Témouchent and Sidi Bel Abbes. Arrival in Tlemcen, dinner with a personality who will tell us about his city and stay at Ibis Hotel.
Day 3: Tlemcen
Visit of Tlemcen, the capital of Andalusian art and Sufism in Algeria: the Lalla Setti plateau which allows you to admire the city and its ramparts. Then visit of the Emir Abdelkader square and the Sidi Boumediene mosque.
Continuation with the site of Mansourah and its vestiges of a mosque built by the Sultan of Fez in the 14th century.
Lunch in a restaurant with a cultural association.
Departure to the 7 tiered waterfalls of El Ourit, then stop at the railway bridge built by Eiffel. Continuation to the Beni Addi cave, in the limestone massif of Aïn Fezza. Return to Oran via Sidi Bel Abbés and the village of Misserghin where the clementine was invented.
Dinner and overnight stay at the Sofi hotel.
Day 4: Train Oran / Algiers
Transfer to Oran’s Karguentah Station, in neo-Moorish style.
The building was designed by the architect Albert Ballu and its architecture takes up the symbols of the three religions of the book. Its exterior appearance is that of a mosque, the clock in the shape of a minaret; the grills of the doors, windows and ceiling of the Qoubba (dome) bear the Star of David, while the interior paintings on the ceilings bear Christian crosses.
Boarding of the train at 08:00 hrs. destination Algiers 13:30 hrs. (1st class travel). Lunch in the train in a lunch box.
Transfer to the hotel, then stroll along the main shopping avenues of Algiers,

Day 5: Algiers
Visit of the Kasbah starting with the Palace of the Dey that we call “Dar Essoltane” which is being restored, visit the centennial house, Then we will meet the cabinetmaker Khaled Mahiout who will make us discover his workshop and its terrace which offers a panoramic view from the terrace, visit the Sidi Ramdane mosque then the fountain “Bir Chebana”, visit the Palace of Princess Khedaoudj and the Palace Mustapha Pasha, without forgetting the craftsmen of the Kasbah.
After lunch, departure for a tour of the city of Algiers, we will see the famous Grande Poste, the national theater, the wilaya (the prefecture of Algiers) or the Galleries de France, converted into a museum of modern art …
Then we will go up to the heights of Algiers to admire the Basilica of Our Lady of Africa which overlooks the famous district of Bâb el Oued.

Day 6: Tomb of the Christian, Cherchell and Tipaza
Departure in direction of Cherchell, the ancient Roman Caesarea.
It has a museum of exceptional antique sculptures, the National Museum of Cherchell, with on the left the bust of King Juba II, sculptures of the heads of Selene his wife and his mother Cleopatra.
The Martyrs’ Square, the ancient Esplanade Square – Roman Square adorned with a replica of a Roman fountain, the original of which is in the museum it is surrounded by a magnificent plantation of Bellombras (a tree of subtropical origin) and multiple fragments of ancient works.
Direction Tipasa (a city famous for its Roman archaeological remains), fish lunch and a stroll around the ancient port. Visit of the ancient city located in the West hill, the theater, the circus, the thermal baths… (This site is classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site) … Numerous Punic, Roman, Christian and African vestiges attest to the rich history of this region. Albert Camus wrote there ” Wedding ” in 1939.
On the way back, a short stop to visit the tomb of the Christian (Queen Selene wife of Juba II) Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 : Thiberine Monastery and the Mitidja River
Departure from Algiers to Medea with one stop in Boufarik, the city where the famous Orangina drink was created. Continuation to the Chiffa Gorge and visit the Monastery of Thibérine, with a meditation.
Picnic lunch at the Monastery, and in the afternoon visit the Monkey Creek with a stop at the craftsmen village El Hamdania and return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Museums of Algiers and Test Garden
The Museum of Antiquities is located in the Park of Freedom on the heights of Algiers.
It gathers a whole collection of vestiges coming from the excavations carried out in the country since the beginning of the 20th century. One will discover many mosaics, Greco-Roman sculptures, bronzes, steles, etc.. Other rooms are reserved for collections of Muslim, Islamic and Near Eastern art.
Then, we will go to the National Museum of Bardo. Located in a historical residence of the 18th century, its collections are dedicated to prehistory and ethnology.
Open to the public since the 1930s, the museum owns no less than 8,000 works of art among which paintings of great Dutch and French masters such as: Brugghen, Renoir, Monet, Matisse, Delacroix, Van Goyen, Gauguin or Pissarro.
Lunch at the Jardin d’Essai.
The Jardin d’Essai is located at the foot of the National Museum of Fine Arts. Created in 1832, its west wing is occupied by the French Garden while its south-east wing is occupied by the English Garden. There are also several stone sculptures by Emile Gaudissard. Day 9: Flight Algiers and return
Departure in direction of the airport with one stop
on the heights of the city to discover the Makam Echahid. This monument erected in the early 80s, in memory of the Algerian fighters who fell for the liberation of the country, dominates the city from its ninety-two meters high. It consists of three concrete palms joined together, symbolizing the three revolutions.
Then on the road to the airport, discovery of the new mosque of Algiers (outside view). It is the second largest mosque in the Muslim world after that of Saudi Arabia. Assistance with the formalities at the airport and return flight.
